"I have been training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at Gracie Barra in Seattle for just over 2 1/2 years. Gracie Barra is an intense and magnificent school but my dilemma has been that I work in Portland during the week and return to my home in Seattle and only get to train on Saturdays and occasional Fridays. GB Seattle teaches in-depth fundamentals on every other training day but Fridays and Saturdays which are reserved for rolling. As a consequence, my foundation in BJJ was severely lacking which resulted in slow progression and increasing frustration. I decided to seek out a BJJ school in Portland where I could train once a week to bolster my fundamentals. My criteria in selecting a school was that it teach good BJJ fundamentals and that the instructors and students are considerate and friendly.
