Eight Silken Brocades Qigong Form - Raise One Arm



Inhale – The hands move toward the center line with the backs of the hands facing each other until the middle fingers almost touch.  The hands lift to the navel with the last of the inhale. 


Exhale – The arms continue to rise with the exhale to the top of the chest.


Inhale – The hands separate.  The right hand continues to rise and the palm turn to face up above the crown of the head.  The left hand begins to sink and move to the left side of the body. 


Exhale – Complete the movement by pressing down at the hip with the left palm and up above the head with the right palm.  Actively press in both directions.


Inhale – Both hands begin to move back to the top of the chest.


Exhale – The hands meet, middle fingers not quite touching at collarbone level.


Inhale – The left hand starts to rise while the right hand begins to sink.


Exhale – Complete the extension in both directions; left hand pressing up above the crown of the head, right hand pressing down by the hip.


Inhale – Both hands begin to move back to the top of the chest.


Exhale – The hands meet, middle fingers not quite touching at collarbone level.


Inhale – Both hands sink down the center line to the navel.


Exhale – The hands separate and return to the sides of the body.

Repeat this movement of the Eight Silken Brocades Qigong three or more times.
